home, mad about something someone said
"I cannot believe you. goodbye."

Pulling the toothpick out from the rim of the glass, I sucked the olive off the tip and flung the wooden stake to the floor. His words hung in the air even after he walked out the heavy glass doors of the bar. I wiped my fingers on the fringe of my dress and adjusted the feathers sewn into my beaded headband. Lifting the martini up to my face, my brow furrowed and I whispered into my reflection staring back at me, "I cannot believe you. Goodbye." I gently placed the drink on the table in front of me, picturing my warm bed, three blocks away on 57th street. I followed the same steps he took out the front door, and left. Each step seemed like a mile. The darkness seemed endless. My mind drifted in all kinds of directions as I strolled through the foggy night. The events of the day had me confused...


Very descriptive writing! It made me want to keep reading and figure out what the man did that was so terrible.
