My character is in the 1920s, around the time of prohibition. It is at night at one of the downtown hidden bars. She feels very exhilarated and holding onto a fan that brushes her pale, gaunt face with cheeks pink from the heat. They have to leave because the police just came to break the party up. A man came up to her and said, "I can get you out of here." This was her first night out and the idea of her husband quietly sleeping at home unaware made the night even more appealing. She had never been to a bar before and to have all this excitement was thrilling to her. As she followed this mysterious man out through a hidden passage, it never occurred to her where they were going. But she didn't care, for she was young and for the first time out on her own. As the cool air from outside hit her pink heated cheeks, she wondered where this man was taking her. Could he harm her in any way? Were they en route to another party? She did not know, but judging by the man's impressive and formal attire, she for some reason felt safe and decided not to fret and just go wherever the night takes her. His eyes were dark but seemed kind enough. His hair was dark and curly and his smile, his smile is what enticed her to join him in the first place. After walking through the streets, they finally arrive at a small underground danceclub. Although unsure, she allows the strange man to lead her onto the dance floor, where they lose all track of time, she has forgotten all about her husband at home.
