There was a dog named Maintence. His owner had named him this because he was a lot of "maintence" when he was a puppy. Maintence was a chocolate lab and lived with his best friend, Robert. Then, Robert got married one day and they moved in with Stephanie and her cat, Simon. Simon was used to being alone and he did not like Maintenance. Maintenance tried to get along with Simon, but Simon was not going to have it. Every time Maintenance tried to get near him, Simon would just run away. Eventually Maintenance learned to leave Simon alone and one day Simon crawled out of his hiding place and curled up next to Maintenance while he was asleep. The peace didn't last long. As soon as Maintenance woke up, Simon ran off, but over time they spent more and more time together. Today, they are the best of friends.
