It still rains outside. Though the scavengers haven't hear me yet, I wait on the moment when I will be discovered. My heart punds in my chest and my breathing grows more labored by the second. I have to focus on keeping perfectly still. Otherwise I will have to forfeit my vending machine donuts. I hear someone's steps in the hallway...from the clicking sounds she makes I can tell it's a woman. She's going to get my donuts. I stuff them in my mouth. As the donuts are becoming soggy because I can't swallow with so many in my mouth, the lady keeps watching and doesn't notice me. WOW! That was a close one. Oh, no! Here comes someone else. I better get back to class before it starts again. As I walk in the room I notice everyone looking at me......I wonder why? Do I have powder on my mouth.....oh man I bet I have white powder all over my mouth. This is so embarrasing! What if I just lick it off......?
